Little Free Libraries Repair and Restoration

Anish Suryapeta led an Eagle Scout project to restore all the Little Free Libraries throughout the Roanoke County Parks. Through the help of volunteers his project was able to perform important repairs to the libraries such as, repainting, replacing roofs and doors, repairing damaged wood, and organizing and redistributing the books. The project was able to restore the libraries to a safe and attractive condition while helping promote literacy and community engagement here in the Roanoke Valley.

Noah Brown

Starkey Park Playground Restoration

Noah Brown led an Eagle Scout project to enclose Starkey park’s playground with a new wooden border. Through the help of other scouts, Noah was able to cut and fasten wood boards all around the playground keeping mulch in and preventing issues that come with rotting boards. The project was able to help restore the playground to a clean and safe condition for the community to use.
