What is Scouting?

Our Mission

Our troops mission is to provide scouts in middle and high school with adventures into the outdoors while learning important life skills along the way. We also want to help scout develop leadership skills through service in our community.

Who are We?

Troop 221 has been serving the Cave Spring area since 1953 through scouting, holding meetings on Monday nights from 6:45-8:00 at Cave Spring United Methodist Church.

Who Can Join?

Scouts BSA (older youth): Youth can join Scouts BSA if they are at least 11 years old but no older than 18. If they have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10 years old OR have earned the Arrow of Light and are at least 10 years old they may also join. We have a Scouts BSA boy troop and a Scouts BSA girl troop that operate independently with their own youth and adult leadership.
Cub Scouts (younger youth): If you have a child younger than the above age range but at least in kindergarten, they can join the Cub Scout Pack 221. (see contact page for information)
